Expedition
Two 5000+ peaks in two weeks
About the expedition
I’m starting an ambitious and deeply personal challenge: two 5000+ summits in two weeks. I'll be attempting to climb the highest mountain of the European continent. My journey begins this August, where I’ll attempt two major peaks in the Caucasus Mountains:
- Mount Kazbek – 5,047m. Demands solid mountaineering skills and offers great acclimatisation, making it an excellent preparation for bigger peaks like Elbrus.
- Mount Elbrus – 5,642m. (the highest in European continent). High altitude, unpredictable weather, and glaciated terrain make it a serious and demanding ascent. Climbers face extreme cold, strong winds, and the risk of altitude sickness, especially during summit day, which can involve a 12–14 hour push in thin air. Proper acclimatization, fitness, and preparation are essential for a safe and successful climb.
This challenge isn’t just about personal adventure – it’s also about making a difference. I will be using this challenge to raise awareness and funds for a non profit Gingerbread centre. The goal is to climb with purpose, with every step going toward something bigger.
I’ve trained hard for this, including a solo ascent back in 2024 of Mont Blanc (tallest mountain in western Europe 4809m), and I’m excited (and nervous!) to take things to the next level.
If you’d like to follow along, support, or just cheer me on – I’d love to have you on this journey.
Feel free to share this with anyone who might be interested!
Thanks so much for reading – and fingers crossed I’ll see you at the summit.
